ROOMS
All the rooms are modernized, cosy three star rooms. They vary a lot in size, although none are very small. Generally rooms are of medium size. The rooms also vary in features, some have a mini bar and hair dryer. RESTAURANT The restaurant is located on the ground floor. The decor is Scandinavian with light wood fittings, pastel red/green fabrics and light yellow walls. There is an open kitchen, Brussels brasserie style. The menu is International with some Finnish specialities. Everything is prepared in-house, the ice cream being a speciality. EXTERIOR The hotel is a classic grey brick building positioned on a city street corner. LOBBY The lobby is small but comfortable with a small to medium sized reception. There are a couple of small seating areas. GENERAL The spa facilities at Helsinki roof level offer a sauna, jacuzzi, and open fire place, perfect for relaxation. We stayed in 6 hotels in Europe and this was the best which were all in the same price range. Great location for public transport and short walk to centre of city. Clean and comfortable room, fabulous breakfast and efficient staff who helped where possible. Definitely recommended

Room was small but nicely furnished. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Location is good, a short walk to many restaurants and shopping. Large buffet breakfast had many options. Free internet access in room with your own computer. Or there is a computer in the lobby that guest can use. We would stay here again.

To my amazement, for such an inexpensive room price, I got a really positive picture about Helka. My room was clean and convenient enough for a single traveller.
The helpful receptionist and breakfast were also a big bonus. The aforementioned things combined with a great location and accessibility I can gladly say I will be back there some day.
