This large, tourist class hotel was built in 1919 and comprises 22 floors with a total of 1,700 double rooms. Guests may make use of the spacious foyer with a 24-hour reception desk, a currency exchange counter, a cloakroom, lifts and an Internet terminal. There is also a café, a kiosk, a number of shops, six restaurants with American specialities and a cosy bar to be taken advantage of. ROOMS
The hotel's rooms vary in size; 80% are medium and 20% are large. Some rooms have been renovated in modern, simple style with light green/neutral colours. However, many rooms are very basic and would benefit from redecoration. Some floors are in better shape than others. EXTERIOR This landmark hotel was built in 1919 and is one of New York City's largest hotels. The style of the bulding is typical of the architecture during this time. LOBBY The lobby is extremely large and bustling with international actvity. It has recently undergone renovation and has been restored to its former traditional style. The ceilings are very high, and this area has been split into 2 levels. The lobby also has a shop and restaurant. GENERAL The hotel's midtown Manhattan location provides guests with convenient access to the airport and all the city's attractions. It is a popular hotel with the international traveller on budget. The Hotel Pennsylvania has an excellent location and is perfect for people who do not spend much time in the room.It is clean and has a good room service with friendly people.
Thus, for those who are visiting NYC and only use the room of hotel to sleep and take a shower is the perfect choice.

The Pennsylvannia Hotel is in a great central location opposite Madison Square Garden and Penn Station. You can catch the liberty express bus from Newark Airport which will drop you off at penn station where the hotel is opposite. In terms of the hotel facilities, the reception offers everything you need. I didnt eat in the hotel so cant comment on the food. The hotel rooms are basic but was clean with a great hot shower, there must always be a compromise I think, if the rooms were more stylish they would be more expensive so for the price and location it is a good deal I think. It isnt ouber cool in interior design but it is clean basic and offers a great way of staying in the city cheaply so you can spend on activities and enjoying new york.

The Pennsilvanian is a low class hotel which clearly had it best times in the past. The lobby still looks nice but the rooms are old and poorly maintained. Plaster is falling from the ceiling and the shower and taps are leaking. Eventhough the beds are comfotable and the shower hot. This is everything you need if yuou are enjoying the city to its most. The hotel is very convenient located across teh street from Penn Station and at walking distance from Time Square and around the corner from Macys
